lək̓wəŋən Traditional Territory, British Columbia, Turtle Island - COYA Productions Inc. is founded and led by Jace Poirier, a Métis, BC trained teacher, non-profit leader, tech trainer, and serial social entrepreneur with an extensive network of Indigenous and non-Indigenous smart creatives across Turtle Island, Aotearoa, and Australia.

COYA Productions Inc. was birthed to help strengthen relationships across Mother Earth by amplifying the wisdom of social impact creators, Indigenous thought leaders, and unheard youth voices through the production of educational programs, online courses, and events with a social impact.

The COYA theory of change is that we are not products of our circumstances, but rather, the consequences of our actions; and when we believe and invest in our COYA we can create positive social impact.

COYA’s education programs are built with love for the problem and people who can solve them; utilizing community action projects; and impact measurement design at their nucleus to act as significant catalysts for social change. By choosing to build reciprocal learning environments, we invite more people into the solution space and deeply consider holding space for both the wisdom keepers and the learners.

COYA invests in partnerships and technology that uphold the United Nations Declarations for the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP), Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), and First Nations principles of Ownership, Control, Access and Possession (OCAP) of Data Sovereignty. COYA’s impact measurement is informed by The Global Impact Investing Network’s (GIIN) Impact Reporting and Investing Standards (IRIS) and The British Columbia Ministry of Educations’ Competency Based Assessment Approach.

COYA Productions pedagogical commitments are informed by Indigenous education principles, trauma-informed practices, place-based teaching, inquiry based learning, community action practices, and principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
